Dopamine

Dopamine is a catecholamine which causes variable physiologic responses, depending on dosage. Low doses (10 μg/kg/min), α-adrenergic activity becomes apparent as vasoconstriction and elevations in blood pressure become clinically evident.

Caution should be taken when administering dopamine as it can cause significant tachycardia and increased myocardial oxygen demand.
