Late inflammatory mediators

Many different cells respond to an antigen trigger in an allergic asthma response. Prostaglandins, interleukins, LTB4 and LTC4 have several actions in inflammation, and many of these substances are chemo-attractants. The increased proliferation of these cells leads to the long-term tissue changes seen in chronic asthma.
