Microtubule synthesis inhibitors

Mebendazole and albendazole distort the microtubules of intestinal and tegmental cells in the worm. By this action the worm is not able to take up low molecular weight nutrients like glucose anymore and will die.

Microtubule synthesis inhibitors are drug of choice in ascariasis and trichuriasis.
