Cannabinoid receptor sites

(Endo)cannabinoid neurons (CB) in the brain

The endocannabinoid system regulates specific physiological processes including appetite, pain-sensation, mood, and memory.

Endocannabinoids receptors are highly present in the cerebellar cortex, the basal ganglia, and in the hippocampus including the amygdala and gyrus cinguli.

Furthermore, some CB-receptors are localised in the cerebral cortex and brain stem.
