Molecular Symbols

Almost alltopics in the TRC-p involve one or more molecular mechanisms with molecular symbols. Particularly the different type of drug ligands (column with agonists, antagonists, metabolites, etc.) are important to distinguish in order to understand the mechanism of action of a certain drug. Notice that for readability, the general symbol to indicate 'drug' molecules is similar as that of an agonist or antibody, depending on the type of drug (small molecule or large antibody drug). Only when the type of ligand is important, like in case of mechanistic explanations, the true symbol is depicted.

Remember that you do not need to know all the symbols by heart. Simply hovering over a symbol in an illustration should indicate what it is. Alternatively, one can click on one of the text buttons in the table of contents to highlight them in the figure.
